Organizing MXF files

I finally made it to a Mac and to FCP. When I copied my video clips shot with the HVX 200 they are mixed formats: mxf and mov.
Never mind the mov. But I found in 1 folder both together. When I copy the mxf files into 1 folder, how could I view them? there is no filestructure nor a "lastclip" file. Just mxf files.
Also on 1 backuped P2 card I have mxf files with different locations. I would like to seperate them and create folders according to the locations. How could I do that if I have the filestructure only for one whole folder?
Thank, you

First off, what are you recording to that does both MOV and MXF? Firestore? Having them mixed makes no sense to me. But I have never used the Firestore.

ANd never never never mess with the P2 file structure. Do not manually move things around. Get the Panasonic P2CMS software and use that to organize your files. Or P2 Log from Imagine Products. Never do it on the finder level.

If you are new to FCP and P2...you have to watch my tutorial...or anything about the topic that Noah has written.

Thank you Shane, great tutorial. Yes, I used the firestore and must have somehow mixed the formats. Well, it is too late now since I have the clips already mixed. Ok, I will try the P2 CMS.
In Edius it is not a problem, since it can read and open any mxf file.
Maybe I could do it that way. And just import it to FCP.
