Organizing DTE footage in FCP 6 (smartly)

Hello
I just finished shooting a doc and have about 55hrs to wade through.
I have backed up all the footage in 4 places so that is all set.

BUT

now I need to set up for editing.
This was all shot DTE (focus FS4) and I have all of my media on one 1TB hd in my MacPro.
there is about 170GB left on this drive.

I have 3 other high capacity drives inside the computer
I was going to use the drive in my second bay for my Scratch as it has 400GB available.

in the past I have used the Larry Jordan method of putting my media and scratch on the same HD.
which was find when I was captureing my media. now without needing a "capture scratch" folder
as I am working with DTE and it is already captured.
what is the smartest way of organizing the footage for FCP
and where would be the most beneficial place to put my scratch ect..

any pointers or reference to articles would be greatly appreciated.

I would still like to use that Larry Jordan file system I would imagine it is still possible.
the whole DM --> DM01 --> DM01_01 labeling convention for client/job/tape or in this case capture number.

thanks

so here is my question.
