I am shooting a doc over the next year on a 7d using H4 for audio and fcp 7. Do you think I should A. sync 7d to h4 audio and export clips back out to qt labeled by topic. Or B. Start a FCP project sync and organize with in the project? for option B I am worried overr a year floing Hard drives around the Media will get disconnected and other assorted problems. Any organizational or tips would be great.

I've been syncing in FCP and creating merged clips for some time now without any problems. I just make sure to keep the video and audio files together when I move or backup the project.
I usually don't deal with a lot of footage files so I tend to not export merged/sync clips out of FCP, but I'd definitely consider it if I had a big project. If it simplifies the file management and you have the hard drive space, go for it.
