Thank you Cole and Al. I've been pleased with HVX and SGpro. Just screened my film "Backwater" (also on my vimeo page) at New Hampshire film festival off Digibeta and had the comment that it looked like 35. My last two shorts before "Organ" were shot with DSLR which can be great but I've found less surprises in my footage with HVX, SGpro. Settings: scene file 5, detail +2, v detail 0, coring 0, ped -1, cine-like v. 26fps is pretty much my base frame rate and I just go up from there. Sometimes 30 or 36. Might be a moment or two of 48 but not much. It was just myself and the actors out there so I can describe lighting set ups in detail if there are certain moments you'd like to hear about.

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful.
With the DSLR craze, I think it's easy to forget what a beautiful, organic image the SGpro creates.
And the "barely slo mo" was perfect.

Loved the images, location, lighting, costumes, and story, and the Beethoven was a great choice of music.

Very nicely done.

Thank you. Yes, organic. A play on words for this film. But I agree. That's the feeling that appeals to me as well.

It just dawned on me...you shot using 720p? Impressive!

I experimented with 1080i for the first time in pre-production right before I shot this. Yes, remarkably sharper. It was a tough call but I went with 720p for the over cranking possibilities. Trying to remember; You lose all slow mo options with 1080 on HVX?

Not all, you still could shoot 1080 30 and play at 24. You don't have a soft result though. I think 720 is just fine!

What are you zoom and focus settings on the hvx?

And did you have any trouble with the sgpro rails, and the size of the hvx?

Thank you so much. SGpro zoom setting: 73-75 normally, and I sometimes zoom in a little for a better composition. There is some play on that end before the camera can't focus on the ground glass. Focus setting: 18-19. What are you running into with rails? I use an SGpro set up from a college where I teach. Their rails are longer than they even need to be but they work fine.

Thank you. I've been happy with SGpro/HVX results on a few films now. Not much color correcting. Much of the film was shot at sunrise or sunset to get the right look. I added some additional warmth to the mids on a few shots.
