Ordering From LetusDirect.

Hey everyone, I'm looking to purchase the Letus Extreme from the LetusDirect website, only thing is I'm in the U.K, with the trusty old dollar so weak at the moment it's looking like a very tempting purchase, problem is with customs. Has anyone purchased anything from the LetusDirect website from outside the states? If so, did you get hit hard by customs? Obviously I'd love LetusDirect to disguise the package as a gift and mark it's value as like £10 ($20) but I don't think they'd do something so 'naughty'. What do you guys reckon?

Hello from Europe. I know someone who ordered one in France and was "hit" by customs, up to about 300 euros, as far as I remember.
Such a device declared as a $20 gift package will look very suspicious to custom agents :)

I bought directly from adapterplace. You'll get your package via FedEx or UPS or whatever and they will send you an invoice shortly after you received your package with the VAT that goes for your country. In my case (switzerland) that was 7.6% and some small custom fees per kilogramm for importing hardware.
So, bottom line: Just order! FedEx or DHL or UPS will do the rest for you.
It work's, it's save, it's easy.

You're asking them to commit a federal offense against an agency of the US Government. No way will they do that.

People occasionally ask me to do that for HVX Books or DVX Books, and sorry, no -- I'm not going to falsify documents to the U.S. Government. :)

Uhhh? A federal offense? What about a crime against humanity? :)
I think the only people you would "cheat" are the custom officers in the land of destination, no more. I don't see the "agency of the US Government" you are reffering to. Really.

Well, that may be different in that an agency of the US government wouldn't necessarily be involved. In that case, you'd just be asking them to falsify documents to an agency of the French government. Still a nasty position to try to put someone in.
