Ordered new computer, can't wait

Finally I got around to building my ultimate editing computer that I like to call the "Mother Ship". My new computer should be ready for pick up on Wednesday.

3.2 gig Intell Processor
2 gig Ram
80 Gig Maxtor drive for operating system only
3, count them three 160 gig Maxtor project drives
256 meg NVIDIA G force video card
Sound Blaster Audigy 2 Platinum audio card

Can't wait to fire this baby up and crank out my first project.

Are you building it, or are you having it built specifically with these parts for you? If you are having it built, where did you order from. SOunds like a beast, should give you hours upon hours of enjoyment.

Heck, I bet Bill Gates wish he had that. Sounds like you could launch a G5 turbo missle with that. ;D

Actually I went to PC Warehouse because they are local and I hear they have OK prices. I told them I was looking to build my super computer and when I found out they would assemble it for free if I bought all the parts from them, It was a no brainer, I let them do it. This way if I have trouble its on them. I don't have a web address for them just the info below.

Also I forgot to mention 800 meg FSB. Should be a lot faster than the 1 gig processor with 512 meg of ram I'm currently using. Should be ready on Wednesday, I can't wait to put it to the test.

if it isnt too late scrap the sound card.. Look into maybe the Maudio products... and make sure your video card can accomodate dual monitor support like the parhelia Matrox product.
You also might want to consider an external hard drive for flexibility for projects.. If your doing different projects at different places youll appreciate the ability to take your work with you...

Very nice setup, are you going to over clock your cpu? With decent northwood support you could o/c it up to 3.6 on air. I am buying a 2.8ghz intel p4 800fsb and planning on running it at 3.4 ghz with 1gb of kinston dual channel hyper x memory. I ask gamers for computer advises heh.. Also if you are interested there is a new 10000 rpm westwood SATA drive that is out which i am also getting. The run just over one hundred bucks for 70 gb. I am not a big space junkies i prefer keeping computer fasst and clean. Good luck with your monster monster.
