Has anyone used or read about the Orbit Dolly sold by Digital Juice? It looks pretty cool.

Yeah we purchased one

Yeah we purchased one

Yeah we purchased one an wasn't very happy with it. This was when they first came out and the unit we bought had the standard wheels on and the pneumatic wheels were an extra 600.00 so we passed on that.

Even on a real nice smooth hardwood floor, our camera would shimmy. We even loaded 80lbs of sand bags on the center spreaders and still shaked. If we broke the unit down to the table top size it was fine.

We contacted the manufacturer about it and they said maybe something was faulty with that set of wheels. So they sent us out another set of 3. Same thing. The tripod is a real nice Cantoni with a Gamma flow head. That's $4,500.00 tripod & head and still shaked.

So, with the full set up and tripod mounted & strapped into place...not very good. We even tried cutting out some thick soft foam and put them in the cups where the tripod sticks go into to help absorb some of the shake. Didn't work.

We just noticed as of 6/4/10 that DJ is selling the pneumatic wheels for 299.00. I think we're going to give those a try.

Thanks for the great info. Sorry to hear it hasn't worked out. I hope you get that worked out.

Did that help at all? Thinking of picking up the Orbit Dolly, they are on special for $1599.00 (plus $300 for the rubber wheels). Would you recommend?
