I just bought one for testing. Meant for motion capture.
However, this would make an EXCELLENT 3D camera rig, as well as a camera for slo mo effects.
BTW this records onboard to MJPEG.

What do you mean by turn-key? Isn't this some kind of a machine vision B&W camera?

I wonder if the "global shutter", as they put it, is merely the use of a CCD sensor?

This is kind of off topic, but you can't beat a CCD sensor for motion rendition. After using CMOS cameras for a number of years I'm always blown away when I see some handheld footage from a Panasonic FZ7 (or any of Panasonic's CCD cameras, really) - the image is just so solid, and easy for the eye to follow. I'm looking forward for affordable global shutter technology on CMOS sensors!
