Optimizing workflow in premiere

Hello all,
Im looking to optimize my workflow, searched around the site and used google now i feel like im a little more confused than when i first started. Here goes nothing...

Workflow
1. Get idea, plan shoot, blah blah...
2. Shoot footage using D7000 and default Tassinflat profile
Question: Should i convert my footage if im importing into premiere (cineform or ProresHD)
3. Import footage in premiere to cut and make "awesomely bad" colors decent.
4. Use AE to CC along with DVrebeltools and Magnum. Also add any effects to here
5. Export

Fin

Also is there anyway to tell if colors are peaking while CC in AE? Like i live histogram that factors in the CC?

Thanks for any help or ideas

Edit natively if your system is up to it.

CC in AFter Effects is doable but painful. CS6 will have Speedgrade semi integrated and that is a more efficient workflow for most CC work

Video apps use waveforms (not histograms) to measure video levels.
