Optimate Settings on Zhiyun Crane Gimbal Using App + Misc Questions

Hey all,

Mobile App Questions:

Starting testing my Zhiyun Crane a couple weeks ago, and so far it's been great just right out of the box, no tweaking to the settings using the mobile App. I watched a little tutorial on how to change the settings, and which ones can be tweaked, but I haven't seen any reviews on what people prefer for normal use?

Has anyone tried tweaking their settings using the mobile App and found it to improve the performance of the gimbal? Performance being measured by smoothness of course.

General Questions

I'm using it with a 24mm and 28mm lens on the a7sii primarily, anyone have favorite lenses they're using with this?

Anyone found that using it with the camera's or lens' stabilization turned on has any negative or positive effects?

Thanks!

About settings, go here (the whole thread may be useful, actually):

I use it with an RX100-IV, usually at 24mm. I'd like to go a bit wider than this, though, maybe 20mm.

Thanks man. That video is exactly what I was looking for. Yeah using it with the 28mm is good, as it's one of my sharper lenses. I also use it with an old Nikkor 24mm which looks good with the gimbal, it just needs more CC in post to match my modern lenses.

Which 24mm are you using?

The only one I can use: the zoom the RX100 IV comes with XD

If the a7S III comes out and it's great and I get it, I'll probably get the Batis 18mm for this kind of use.

Nice, that's right I forgot it was that kind of setup.

The A7sIII will come out eventually, however I'm not sure how many of the drawbacks that the II faces will be resolved (Battery life, overheating in 4K, relatively low bitrate and 4:2:0 in 4K.) So far, the hurdles of the A7sii are fairly easy to overcome depending on your needs. I just starting using a USB Powerbank tethered to my A7sII via a long USB chord. Throw the bank in my pocket and the battery lasts 2 - 3 times longer.

Also, that lens looks amazing..If you can drop $1500 on a lens you should def. spring for a better Sony! It does look large (it's nearly 2 lbs), so I would take that into consideration before trying it on the gimbal maybe?

The batis 18mm is one of the best lenses at its focal range, that's why I would consider it. Link. And it's not particularly big or heavy. As always, dvxuser can comment on that: link.
