Hey,

If you have submitted a film via withoutabox, what has been your experiences thus far (positive or negative) from film festivals or the process of submitting?

Thanks for any advice or help.

Ken

I've submitted twice with WAB and both times got accepted. The great thing about it is once you've submitted your film once, all that info is saved so next time you submit to a festival all you have to do is press a few buttons instead of re-entering all your info. They also keep an updated list of festivals arranged by the submission deadline and also which ones are more established than others. I really like it.

A followup question: did you send the DVD yourself or did you use withoutabox dvd submission service?

I used them - they're great. I send my own material. Once you have entered the film's info, submission to another festival is a click away. Very easy - and free!

I've used them (WOB) 3 times (two rejects and one pending) with no problem. It makes it so easy. I've entered 2 other festivals on my own (my film was excepted by both) more leg work to do it on my own. With WOB just search click and enter. I admit I've not been aggressive in my submissions, but you can go at the pace you want ie..check out the festival see if it is a fit for your film. Also I sent all my press and DVD by Fed Ex and haven't used the DVD submission service. I recommend try Without-A-Box if you don't like it don't use it again, but I think you'll like it.
Good Luck
