I purchased the book and found it very useful even if you aren't doing action movies (which is what it's mostly geared towards).
The book, IIRC, focuses mainly on the practical, and not so much w/the theory. As the name implies it's very much a "how to" guide, but it does also touch on things like how to adjust your mindset so you can creatively make the best use of the less than Hollywood Blockbuster budget you are working with.
It's totally worth buying, reading, and tucking away in a handy place to reference down the road.

Yea, it's not a theory book ... it's about actually getting out there and making a movie. And focuses on ways to actually get it done, especially on a limited budget.
There is reference to some theory and terminology, but its much more about the practical.
