Opening FCP projects in Premiere without an XML

Hi Ya'llIve recently edited a short film in Final Cut Pro on a Macbook pro, and ive copied all the project and attached files to a hard drive and sent it to a friend to do the digital effect and colour grade in Premiere and After Effects on a PC.

The question, is it possible for them to open the file without the FCP XML file? As i wasnt aware of this and i no longer hold a copy of the project to export the XML file from. Will i need to get the hard drive back, and export the XML file then send it back to them? or is there a way they can open the project without it?

i hope that makes sense

thankyou

XML is the only official way of doing it. Automatic Duck is not cheap, but could be the answer if you can't get the project open with FCP.

Once you've got the project in to Premiere give it a good look over. While it hasn't happened very often, we've seen a couple of clips out of place (slipped) that needed putting back. It's not just a few frames either, it was several minutes out on a long clip.
