Opacity Envelope Point

How do I add a point to an event's opacity envelope? i can add one to velocity, but not opacity. Is there any way to keyframe opacity?
 
So there is no way for me to set oppacity points? like have it go to 80% opacity then gradually down to 60%? Its so easy to change velocity with points i wish it was as easy to do it with the opacity levels and audio gain levels...
 
Yes, you can use a "fade to colors" envelope and set the "colors" as transparent. I don't have it in front of me to walk you through it, but check in Help.

It IS just as easy. Add COMPOSITE envelope and you can do exactly what you are saying for opacity levels. For audio gain levels, just add a VOLUME envelope.
 
HAHA you learn something new every day. I've been using vegas for about a year and a half and have taught it all to myself. Obviously i'm still missing things along the way though! Thanks jedi
