OnLocation vs Premiere Direct to Disk

I recently learned that I am able to record straight to disk using OnLocation, but I can also capture straight to disk using Adobe Premiere- no need for tape. So I was wondering, what exactly is the benefit of using OnLocation for direct to disk capture if Premiere can do it too? If I direct capture through Premiere, am I not getting the full quality or pulldown removal? I'm using DVX100B thru firewire-

The only benefit using either is not having to capture from tape.

From memory On Location has a nice set of scopes.
