OnLocation CS4 for 35mm Adapters

I just want to throw in another question if thats alright? Is on location an acceptable substitution for a reference monitor (assuming your laptop is properly calibrated) I'm more concerned about the motion being accurate and smooth rather than color and black levels etc.

I can see no facilty to flip the image.

Answer to second Post. NO. It does not replace a professional reference monitor.

BTW - CS3 does have Flip mode (vert and horizontal)

CS4 On Location is crap in every way compared to CS3.

Kind of like what Adobe did to Cool Edit Pro or Audition 3 ( SoundBooth)

Adobe has an odd way of upgrading applications! .... or should I say downgrading in NEW versions of software. I love the rest of CS4 though.

Shooter, Thanks. I'll go back to CS3 or even DVRack HD. Much appreciated.

in evryway onlocation cs3 is better verything so simple , just still dont understand why the did that but they havent add anything to it but they took off lot of it li menu button was simple now you have to get a manual to find a setting ....i guess they did it on purpose cause its included free with premiere well i'll keep using cs3
ooh if you bought hvx bootcamp barry was talking about dvrack , he said monitor in pc is good as pro monitor , they almost identical by 95 % . i had compraison in a movie i was working i couldnt see the diference
peace

I can assure you that my laptop monitor (running On Location / DV Rack) is no where near as accurate as my HD Panasonic LH1700W monitor to evaluate color, contrast.

Both are fine for framing.

Laptop monitor displays an action lag (due to Firewire).

Scopes match in both devices.
