Onlining high resolution footage

I'm editing a music video. I captured footage from five mini dv tapes as low res and edited a sequence made from other sequences. I tried to export an EDL list and it had a problem with the nested sequences. I've just recut the whole thing from the original low res footage and the EDL was fine. Now when I try to batch capture the clips as high res there are all kinds of problems from timecode issues to dropped frames and it is only reading a few of the clips. This video has to go to post production in the next day or two. Can anyone take me through step by step how to capture my high res footage from the tapes? I would be as grateful as someone in such a f*ck*n pickle as I am.

i never use original MiniDV tapes as a master. in my process, step one is to bump all my MiniDV tapes to digibeta or better and to use those as masters to ensure reliable timecode. the broken timecode on MiniDV tapes straight fom the camera are only reliable in that you can count on them giving you problems.

Just out of curiosity- why did you capture low-res in the first place. DV is so low data rate it's not really worth the time and effort to bother "offlining" it. Just cut DV next time. For this situation the only thing you can do is go clip by clip in your browser and re-batch one at a time.

I was working with a director who has done all this before and he said it was the way to do it. I'm relatively new to doing this professionally and had always captured my footage at high resolution. It seemed like a good idea.
