Hello,
I need an advice, if possible!
My 35mm thesis film has been telecined to digibeta, with a cloned copy to dvcam. I finished editing in FCP using the digitized dvcam footage, with the project residing on my LaCie Firewire800 hard disk. Now, the school is renting a digibeta deck for two days, and I need to online the project myself. I have never done this before, and since I will have no help, hopefully somebody might check on the steps I plan to take!
First, I would create another sequence in FCP with digibeta settings (NTSC 4:2:2 uncompressed - correct me if I'm wrong). I would move the dvcam sequence on the new uncompressed timeline and offline all the clips. Then, I just have to take my LaCie drive and digibeta tapes, and re-capture all the clips to the uncompressed timeline at school, using the digibeta deck.
Would that be enough?
Thank you very much for any corrections/advices!
