One take wonder

Somebody probably already posted this but if not, a cool one take music video, performance recorded live supposedly which makes it really cool. Music definitely sounds live but vocals seem pretty "studio" for being recorded live.

Oh. My. God. ROTHLMAO!
I'll never look at a field of trampled grass the same way again!

I agree about the vocals.
So they had a crane or cherry picker sneak up from behind for the end?

This is probably the most elaborate, but I've seen a good number of these types of things. Very impressive when they can get that much organization, and I always wonder how much rehearsal and how many takes they had. The vocals are a tough sell, at the very least the movement would have affected breathing and the lav might move. If I were filming it I'd plan to put in clean vocals just to be safe... but maybe professional singers are good enough to deal with that.

I like the vimeo clip...

I like the vimeo clip...

(haven't watched the YT clip yet).

As for the vocals, maybe this line below the vimeo player gives a hint:
"Buy the album here: (their web site)
And download an mp3 of the live audio from this video for FREE at our website"

The fact that "...a download of an mp3 of the live audio..." is mentioned seems to suggest you may be right.

It's great, I loved it.

I would say it is a bare minimum of a board feed collecting wireless, if they had one out there, mixed along with external mics. The dead give away to me is the xylophone and how crisp it is in such a wide open setting.

I have done local bands and done a mix of board feed and my Rode to get similar. For those the board feed was used to get the prisitine of the vocals, drums and keyboard, which are lost to the guitar amps if all done from the on cam Rode.

Very catchy tune and a fun video.

If there's an edit it would be at the lens flare (sun burst - 2:00) during the pan to the stands. But can't be sure.

You have seen these guys other videos, right? They are equally fun. It is refreshing to see a band who "gets it" and can create ultra low budget yet very. very entertaining videos consistently.

Love it. Really almost the only music videos of the past few years that I find original and clever. It's easier to be original and clever with a few hundred thousand dollars, really difficult to do it with low, low budgets.

That video ROCKS! How do you think they got the last crane shot? That's pretty damn high!!

I was wondering that myself. I have a two story crane and that seemed higher, though they might have been using a 10mm lens on full frame sensor, but I doubt it.

At the end it was jiggling, which made me think it was a ballon arrangement with side tethers.
