One man screenplay

Hi guys,

Christmas is almost here and i'll be stuck with a lot of free time which I am expected to spend with my family. And to not make this family time horrible I thought I'd make a little movie. However, a few problems arise: I'll be with family, my friends are on the other side of the country and I only have one certainty as far as actors go, my 13 year old brother. I might be able to convince my two sisters, 15 and 17, to join the party, but i'm not sure...
So my question to you guys is:
Do you have any ideas on a one man (kid) story? Locations shouldn't be a problem, i live in a big house in a seaside town, so there'll always be somewhere to shoot. I dont really care what genre, altough comedy would be best since it'll boost my selfconfidence if i get a few laughs at the family viewing :).
If you guys can't think of something for one person, i would also be delighted if you'd give me some ideas for a two person story, one guy one girl.

Thanks in advance,

Fredric

P.S. If I use any of the ideas you guys come up with, ill definitely post the movie here and whoever thought of the story will get the proper credit :)

You could do it semi-improvisational where your brother maintains a set script when talking with family members, but they have no idea what he's talking about. Hilarity ensues. Maybe.

Thats actually a pretty good idea, however I really want to make some more use of my camera, I think if I would use your idea, you would get more of a homevideo... I want to use some shallow depth of field shots, stuff like that, I think if I would use improv, I wont have enough control... Thanks for the idea though!

You could do a story about a young boy wanting to make a movie at Christmas, but he's having a hard time trying to come up with an idea.

Hmmmmm. Well, you don't generally do a lot of selective focus with comedy. Not that you can't do it, but if you watch a lot of your favorite comedies -- both TV and film -- you'll notice a lot of wide-angle, lockdowns and hand-held (The Office). I mean, you'll have DOF on close-ups in those things, but you don't usually see an abundance of dramatic focus pulls. But hey, be different. Mix it up.

I agree with you there, however, most of the time there are many more people in the shot with the wide angle. Maybe I should think of a story around him, my brother, and an object or something and of cource it was never my intention to do the whole thing with a shallow DOF, but with your suggestion i thought i just didnt have the control i want. Thanks for the responses though, made me think some more :)
Suggestions still welcome...

@EJ: How would you imagine this? All i can think of is my brother sitting in front of his computer with an empty screen, maybe looking through some movies, but not much more...
