one-hole mount cameras - solid plate mounting solution?

Does anyone know of some kind of plate/adapter that can provide a more solid mounting for any cameras that have only 1 mounting hole.

in my case: i'm mounting nikon d90 on fluid tripod head or redrock micro baseplate and that one hole mount is just bothersome
camera can rotate around it...

wondering if there's some kind of adapter, base grip, etc. to resolve this?

If your using a bigger lens, and it has a tripod mount, then you'll have two mounting points that are 4-8" apart, which should make for a really solid mount. Otherwise, I'd just tighten it as much as you can without damaging it.

I can't help you with the d90 right now but if anyone has a HVX200 I just designed a new plate that bolts onto the stock base plate that has multiple 1/4" mounting holes and also a few 3/8" mounting holes. The plate also protects the base of the camera from cracking ($1000 repair job). My first production run will be ready in a couple of weeks and I am putting the website together right now. I will be making them for other camera models in the future. These are CNC machined from 6061 aluminum and not only look good but are strong and light. PM me if you are interested.
