on camera light

I've been using a Frezzi Mini-Fill on my Betacam for years, but recently bought a PAG C6 light for my DVX. It's VERY nicely made and comes with barndoors, a diffusion filter and a dichroic. The battery is about the size of a BP-90 and comes with a shoulder strap. I popped for the belt clip ($30). Also get the 30 watt lamp as the standard 10 watt really doesn't put out enough light to be useful. With the 30 watt lamp it'll run about 1 1/2 hours. $400 at EVS or B&H.

i am trying to get something of that affect. while watching the commentary it was mentioned that they used a small light and mounted it on top of the camera. the light was from a hardware store or something. i just don't wanna pop $400+ on the pagc6, and could have bought a light from home depot for $20:) but if i have to, ill spend the $. do you think there are any other light sources i can use to achieve that?
