Hey,
So I need to get myself a proper lighting setup, I don't have lots of money so I'm looking at a cheapish 3 point system (cheap being inexpensive but of decent quality). I'm working my way through the awesome articles etc stickied in this forum, so I'm not yet ready to take the plunge and buy a full setup yet.
That being said, I was wondering if anyone had a recommendation of a light that could be both attached to the camera hot shoe (in my case DVX's) and so used when using just the camera handheld, but can also then be taken off and attached to a tripod/stand for use in a 3 point system.
From what I've read so far, a lot of the strength of the light depends on the type of bulb you use, i.e. the number of watts, so by proxy I appreciate that you might need to change the bulb, but in this instance I'm talking more about the light itself.
I currently film both music videos and live music, but also want to get into filming people at night impromptu walking around and playing etc.
Thanks!
