got a few weddings to shoot, but not enough to justify buying a $300 vidled light....what would you recommend for under $130? preferably something that uses AA batteries, and a dimmer if possible for this price.

Actually, there's a lot in that price range:
Your very best on-camera bet is a used Smith Victor incandescent with a 35W bulb running off of 12V pack. I snag e'm when I can and pay between $25 and $50 max. Or a Lowel Pro or ID light.
VIDLED? I thought he went out of business. No seriously, I've been trying to get him to send me a review sample for a while.
IF you have an assistant ( I usually do for weddings) the assistant gets to hold a Lowel Omni, rigged for 12V ( 150W bulb) . That off Ebay is around $100 used plus the battery cord and bulb.
Nothing brand new of off the shelf for $130.

I was using Canon VL-10 light. It works okay for wedding. But without a dimmer, when I get closer to interview guest, the light is too bright and video becomes washed out.

Here's a shoot out videos I did to compare some video lights

I would suggest the Comer 900 light. It provides strong light output with 2 level of intensity control. Smaller/light weight very portable.

I got a light from Taky, great light man! 2 settings and a drop down filter if your lighting conditions change. A very solid investment! lacolorShop.com is where it's at.

Considering the impact that proper lighting has on your final product, might want to reconsider your budget. If you really have to have a Vidled, you might find one used for $300 at some point in time but you won't find one new. Comer 900 might be the best bang for the buck right now at $269 without having to use a battery belt.
