on-camera light for HVX 200

Hi:
I've found some older postings about on-camera lights for other cameras and maybe they're all pretty much the same, but I need one for the HVX200 and wanted some updated suggestions.

One particular application in my case will be to tour the unlighted (or very dimly lighted) interior of an old ship, possibly with someone leading the way and narrating. Shooting will probably be 720p, 24pn. But the light would be used for other things, too.

Thanks in advance,
Chris

I think for very dark interiors, a Frezzi Mini with dimmer and an external battery will do much better. I have the light panels LEDs and they wouldn't be good in a dark ship.

Actually, now that I'm looking at the B&H site, I see quite a few variations on the Frezzi mini on-camera lights. What would be a good wattage (or is the idea of the dimmer just that I get 100 watt and dim it as needed)? Thanks in advance.

That would be a good option, as you can always dim it down if you don't need the wattage.

Make sur eto get a battery belt for it or an anton bauer or sony v-mount with the proper anton d-tap plug on it.

Would any of these on-camera lights also double as a regular light on a stand, for a 3-point setup? I may not have a lot of on-camera situations so I was wondering about flexibility. Still, maybe renting is the way to go when I need that. Thanks.

I've had a MiniCool light for 15 years and it's still working well. You can get a 120 volt 250w bulb or a 20 watt 12v bulb to work, plus many other options. The also make a tri-light and softlight.

Bescor makes a cool lil 20w light with two 10w side-by-side bulbs for widescreen coverage and it's less than $80. Sold by B&H and others.
