On Camera Light for DVX100

There are loads of 'em. I have a PAG-C6 light. Its great. It's a little pricey. You can look at some of the Bescor models.

You want to make sure you don't get a light w/o a diffuser otherwise you'll blind people.

I bought a Bescor on-camera dimmer light for my DVX. It doesn't have diffuser and, yes, it either blinds people or, dimmed down, is very, very yellow (it does have a daylight filter, though). If I had the money I would buy an LED on-camera light - cool burning light and even color temperature when dimmed. But those are currently VERY pricey.

I use a Pag-c6 as well. Comes with diffuser and daylight filter. It's adds almost no weight to the camera, and the giant battery pack will run the light for hours. I occasionally get shadows from my on-camera microphone, so I'm looking for a way to move the light forward. Pag sells a diffuser kit that attaches to the barn doors to emulate a softbox.

There is a new light that is supposed to debut at NAB2006 called a Zylight. www.zylight.com. I am not sure if it is going to compete with the Litepanels lights because they use LED bulbs as well. I am not sure on what the price is going to be.

Well, we sell 'em for $199.00 right now...dayLED, uses 4W. Not THAT pricey! :)

I got a Frezzi Mini-Fill 100W. The light is great and powerful. However the battery (Bescor) only lasted a week. Can anyone reccomend a good battery system?
