On Camera, gentle, daylight balanced fill?

Hi, I'm going to be shooting outside, sometimes in direct sun, and need a daylight balanced (or easily gelable tungsten) on camera light to get rid of the shadows. The lowel and company are WAY too bright and look terrible, it should barely be noticable (and hence less wattage, less battery...) does anyone have experience with this LED model, the IDX X3 : http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=365696&is=REG

Any other reccomendations that won't require a batt belt?
