OMG...

Re: OMG...

I say good for the parents. It's not necessarily the parents fault when a child rebels, think back to when you were a teenager. I rebelled pretty badly against my parents, and it wasn't their fault. I'm not saying that the parents can't do things to try and improve the situation. Quite possibly if they had dealt out stronger punishment in the past for rebellious acts, the kid wouldn't have done what he did because he'd know he'd be in for it. Hopefully, this will keep him from doing it again or something worse which could mess up the rest of his life.

Re: OMG...

Screw the little ****.

It looks like the father is using eBay as his therapist though; this isn't as effective a public shaming as, say, showing up to the kid's school at lunchtime with a card table and a PS2 for sale.

Re: OMG...

Alright. I think if the kid's behavior has come to this, then he deserves to have the PS2 taken away and sold.

HOWEVER: if this is a true story, these parents are starting their discipline 13 years too late. As a third grade teacher, I have been able to make observations in respect to the child's behavior and the parent's parenting. I have got to say that the MAJORITY of poorly behaved kids are a result of poor parents. Not always, but more often than we will admit.

If they think changing their kid's behavior at 13 is going to fix things, they've got another thing coming...
