all I have is a freeze frame so far. I'm sure it'll pop up on youtube soon enough:

The javelin was thrown by a Finnish guy called Tero Pitkämäki and hit a french guy called Salim Sdiri at a Golden League event in Rome

according to the hospital he is doing ok.

heh, you would think after a few of those accidents they would move the Javelin event some where else.

that's what i've been saying for years! we'll see how arrogant those brazilian soccer players are once we add javelins to the equation.

Ya know, part of the origin of the javelin throw, is being able to hit your target, i.e., the Grecian warriors throwing their spear at the enemy or a stag. If he can't keep it in the javelin lane, how did he ever make it this far?

That springboard thing is going to bring some Nascar fans over to Olympic events.

Did you ever see the javelin of the guy getting hit?

I'm pretty sure this was originally on America's Funniest Home Videos... Bab Saggat said something schmarmy like, "See Grandpa... you shoulda' been a greeter at Walmart."

Oh and how about bringing JARTS back... man I miss that game. "Hey kids... why don't you go in the backyard and see how high you can throw these giant lawn darts?"
