Olympus OM lenses on 550d...

So I just realised that I have 3 very decent Olympus OM lenses that I inherited from my father a couple of years ago. I completely forgot that I can use these on my 550d with a £20 adapter, which means that in about a week i'm going to have double the glass that I do now. They're not with me at the moment, but I recall there being a 24mm prime, maybe a 50mm prime, and then 2 really good zooms. I can't believe I've owned my 550d for a year and a half and only just realised this.

Anyway, I'm just looking at adapters and not sure which to buy. Obviously it's not a matter of price here, they're all so cheap, but is it worth getting the one with the AF electronics inbuilt? I do a lot of still photography as well so I can see the benefit of it, but it seems like there's more to go wrong? From what I've read, there seems to be issues with the communication between the lens and the camera, where the camera always thinks the lens is wide open at 1.4. Is this just an issue with the AF? Is it better to get the one without and just shoot entirely manual, which I usually do anyway it's just nice to have the AF option.

Also, because these are built for a 35mm camera, if I upgrade to full frame will they work? I've seen a lot of videos on the 550d and I love the optics of it, they have a much more cinematic feel to them it seems. I hope I won't be disappointed when I come to using them.

I would just get the adapters without that stuff. I like the fotoidox brand ones, but I have good experiences with all sorts of cheap adapters.

These will work on full frame, the Zuikos are great lenses, you should love them!

I pretty much use old Nikon lenses all the time and love them! Have fun with your new lenses
