OK, still more to come, but the first part was a bit disappointing after that awesome spectacle of the opening. Kinda looked like a Dr. Seuss book.

I would have been surprised if they had topped the opening ceremony. My guess is they didn't try to, seeing as all opening/closing ceremonies are going to look lame after Beijing.

Looked like it was fun to be there, but fairly typical as far as closing ceremonies go.

My wife said the closing was so boring she would have left after the Olympic flame was extinguished, if we'd been there in person. And the presentation by England was poor by any standard, especially after the Chinese display. Ah well, all in all it was a good games.
