Hey guys,
I have a guy who has a really nice collection of lenses for his arri IIb and I pretty much have access to them whenever. I have virtually no experience with "flim" camera's, but have worked extensively in the "digital" realm. I have a Brevis 35mm adapter for my HVX and am using Nikons. I was wondering what type of mount the arri IIB lenses require and does cinevate carry a lens mount for them. Thanks for any direction.

The IIB uses Arri Standard mount. You can't use those on a 35mm adapter. You can get Arri Standard -> PL mount adapters and then use the lenses on a 35mm adapter that supports PL mount, but Arri Standard->PL adapters cost about $500 each, and you'd need one per lens.

You can get cheapo knockoff adapters off ebay for about $80.

Another caveat is that a 35mm movie camera really shoots "half frame" images compared to a SLR.

It seems like the 35mm adapters are aimed at using still camera lenses, so a lens engineered for a 35mm movie camera may not cover enough of the ground glass on some adapters.
