old slides to CD

The only scanners I know worth their weight cost at least 5 times that, some as much as 15x. Plus you have to factor in time.

You might consider an online service like ScanCafe. I have a friend who used them and thinks they are great. They offer a 3K scan for .29 cents each. Might be an option.
 
I don't want to invest to much. There are mostly old family slides. I'll check out Scancafe. Thanks
 
If you want to do it yourself, a good flatbed scanner like the v500 or v700 will do a fantastic job. I have the v500 and love it, but you can only do 4 slides at a time.
 
Something like that would be a good idea. I have a lot of old pictures I'd like to scan too
