old Lacie

Has anyone had a Lacie Hard Drive crap out on them too? Mine won't mount on the desktop. The light is on, but it's not showing up. Any thoughts or suggestions on how to get it up & running again as I have a job on it?

I had that problem a while back. If you did all the basic disk aid troubleshooting (you know - like repairing permissions, etc), and the disk still won't mount...then it "might" be the power cord.

I had two external HD's (one 1000 gig HD and a 250 gig HD). I had accidentally swapped power cords and used the 250 gig HD power cord to power the 1000 gig HD. The light was on and you can hear it working, but it would never mount.

Thanks man! That was it. Must be that particular cord as it doesn't work with any of the drives. Was just about to go to costco and drop a couple of hundred!
