old film what to do?

So I have had some short ends of old film lying around and I got a deal on telecine for this upcoming project I am doing.

I am debating shooting this old film and getting it transfered.

its all recans off my shoots. So I know it is fine in that sense. But I don't know how long can you really keep film before it goes bad?

A couple rolls are from april 2006, 2 years...hmmmm

I even have some Tri-x 400 foot rolls from april 2005

should i just throw this stuff away????????

any feedback with some facts behind it would be nice

so i shot with the old film....it actually came out fine....trix reversal black and white from 3 years ago....it had these really odd flakes througout...which i really liked....my new roll was more pristine....my old roll had a certain older look to it with the odd scratching.....but I really liked it...so there is a bit something to older film...but something I liked....but that was a bit costly to figure out
