Old arri light, socket lock doesn't "clamp" down on bulb?

Is this just a bad socket?

The lever that clamps the lamp down into the fixture wont lock down completely, leaving the bulb somewhat loose in the socket. Furthermore, one of the clamps that holds the fresnel lens in place is missing. meaning the lens itself can fall out on its own, for example if the light is rigged "upside down". These issues have led to damaged bulbs / compromised life-span, so I'm trying to troubleshoot asap. Speaking to arri and their 3rd party repair facilitiy in LA has yielded no results.

does anyone happen to know what socket is even used in a 1988 arri 1k? and how I would go about getting that part? additinally, anyone know what the "holder" piece that holds the fresnel in place is called? I need that too.

Thanks guys, appreciate the help :)

It's a G22 base, but if you remove the lamp holder, you'll find you can get inside the ceramic quite easily and can re-profile the clamp. It's been a while, but I did one of mine that had a loose clamp, and memory tells me I was able to simple re-orient the rotating clamp, past the stop once out so it could turn more and this did the trick. The bi-pin lamp bass is quite common in 1K and 2K equipment, across quite a few makes. If the ceramic is broken, then you should be able to get something to replace it - but it may involved a little metalwork if you can't find a genuine arri base.

This is an old post but I ran into this recently and maybe my fix will apply to others, on a 1k make sure the pin that runs through the small shaft where the lever is attached is positioned horizontally - not vertically. Sometimes when removing a bulb that pin goes vertical and in that position you want be able to get enough spring action on the bulb pins in the socket.

anyway that worked for me, hope it works for someone else.
