Oktava purchase

First post -- hold the applause until everyone has replied.

I'm opting for the Oktava hypercardioid today (http://www.oktava.com/inc/sdetail/474). Concerning the bare essentials, would it be a good idea to get any of the optional accessories right off the bat? My budget is not high by any means, but if something small is going to give me a headache down the road a bit, I'd like to buy the necessary fixes now.

Mind you, I know not to rely on the Oktava for ALL of my audio needs. It's my first mic, and a good one to build on from what I hear. Just getting started.

Appreciate it!

There are 2 things you need with the Oktava:

1) a really good shockmount. I use the Rycote INV-7, but the K-Tek KSSM has some avid fans as well.

2) Wind protection. You could go with the BBG, but for less (75 bucks), you could get a 5cm Micover Puffin. I found that it works very well in all but the most extreme conditions.

The MK-12 is a great mic, but you really have to outfit it properly because it is so sensitive to handling and wind noise.
