Oktava plus Rykote BBG

I have just received my mic stuff:

Oktava MK12 w/Hypercardoid + Rycote BBG + KSSM Mount


I'm kind of a newbie in the mic department. Can somebody tell me how far the mic should go into the grommet on the BBG? Where should the front face of the hyper capsule line up with on the BBG, like 1/3 from front of BBG, 1/2 way mark at the ring where it twists together, or ???

And also, when would you use the -10db piece on the mic?

Any help would be great.

I have the front of my Oktava pretty much right in the center of the BBG. I've been getting good results.
 
I have only owned the MK_012 for a few weeks. On testing ( not used it on a shoot yet) I found that the sound I got out of the mic was better with the -10db piece fitted. The mic went straight to the HVX200. When I didn't use the -10db piece, the sound was a touch harsher.

just my thoughts.
