Oktava MK012 "rough" indoor shooting

by the way wabiit , if you use cut 1 , it abit maskerade the problem but it still exist

I was talking more from a comparative level. For certain the Schoeps does pick up wind noise if swung really hard but from my experience the Schoeps can take a lot of movement before getting any noise. The Oktava, OTOH, can get noise from simple picking up the mic. Night and day really.

As soon as I get my Oktavas back I will mount both on a pole and do a side by side movement test. Will post results if anyone is interested.

Cheers

You can borrow my Oktava, wabbit (or I can help). I have both foam windscreens they sell at sound-room.com and the BBG (with jammer).

I want to hear the Schoeps.

thanks for the recommendations. i have experienced the same problems so i just ordered the AT with the K-Tek bands from b&h. I also got a pop filter so hopefully that combo is good enough.

i love my oktava, and did a full 3 month drama shoot with it last year - foam only, no BBG, some hectic interiors. we had wind noise only a couple times. everyone of these times the boom op would say "**** sorry, my fault".

so I sorta agree with oleg on the BBG thing. I have one, but I wont use it in any controlled sort of situation, with any hyper. What the BBG totally rocks at is doc and reality - its such a good interior to exterior solution when you dont have time to change mics: ive been working with the oktava in it, and also schoeps cmc541's and 641's.

a schoeps oktava comparison will just depress you, guys. the oktava sounds really great. until you hear the schoeps. :) the schoeps is also so clean you can turn your pots to 100% and not even hear a bit of hiss! very useful for soft talkers.

octava sound s really grate , but i just got another brand which cost about 350 us for matched par with 6 capsules / 300 for 4 / 250 for 2
devide for 2 for 1 mic but then you dont get nice storage box :-)

the build up is exactly as peluso microphones
from ruff testing at my house directly to 744 i can say you have another cheap one to work with and get results

the only bad thing you need low cut fq roll off asyou need if you work with cub-1 or cs-1 dyrectly with sounddevices preamps .
low fq cut off eliminate rumbling on the boom .

good foam and zero problems on the boom
stay tuned :-)

Hi Oleg,
Are you saying you found a matched pair of Peluso mics with a full set of capsules for $350 US? Are you talking about the CEMC6? I've seen these praised in the recording forums and have been tempted but I've only seen them for around $300 for one.

I'll be interested to hear what you think of them and where you got them at that price.

Thanks,
Dan
