Oktava Cutting Out

Hey all. So a couple of days ago my Oktava MK012 started cutting out at random times. I thought this was a problem with my XLR cable but turns out that isn't the case. Now the problem has become worse and I'm getting a weird noise that sounds like the alien sound from that Jodie Foster movie "Contact" whenever I connect the mic. Anyone have any thoughts? I read the previous post and I'm not getting the "motorboat problem" but rather complete audio drop out or weird noises. The strange thing is sometimes the audio will kick back in and it will sound crystal clear. I'm including an audio sample of the problem:

AUDIO SAMPLE INFO:
OKTAVA MK012 (PURCHASED FROM SOUNDROOM SO NOT A KNOCKOFF)
RYCOTE BBG
KTEK SHOCKMOUNT
STATIONARY ON A MIC STAND
ENCLOSED STUDIO SPACE ROOM TONE

Make absolutely sure that the cable is securely connected to the mic. The Oktava is odd because the cable would appear to be securely plugged in when in fact it's not. Give it an extra push until you clearly hear a "click." I had it happened before where the sound would cut out and return at random moments, turned out it was the cable.

You may also have dirty contacts. I would look first at the capsule, body connection and make sure its clean and dry. THere is a talk about how to dry the capsule on a diferent thread here about the Oktava. I would secondly look at the pins where the cable plugs in and make sure they are clean and shinny.
