Oktava 100 series large condenser heads for MK 012 body

I'm looking into getting a mic for the occasional voice over (speech) or vocal (music) home recording. Since I own Oktava MK 012s and like their sound I thought about getting one of the Oktava 100 series heads for that purpose. Little money for a nice large diaphragm condenser sound I figure. But which one to take?

Experience with these? Recommendations?

The two large heads for the Oktava are the same capsule with different looks, at least that what I have read on a number of sites that sell or mod the mic.
If your actually doing VO you might want to look at the Heil PR40 though. The large head on the Oktava is not going to sound like the small capsule and a hot Dynamic like the Heil is going to be a lot more "user friendly" plus they sound great.

Thanks Noiz for the Heil tip. It's a little too expensive for now, as I can live with the Oktava 012 sound for VO, I just thought for 149 Euros the large heads might be a cool add for vocals. I guess in that price range it doesn't make much sense to buy a large diaphragm mic - if there are any...

It would be about a third more, unless import duties kill you. Oktava also makes a couple of large diaphragm mics that should cost about the same as the capsule. another option that sounds kind of weird but I have heard that the Sen. 416 can sound very VO if you use them close up. Not a cheaper choice but if you don't have a shotgun it might be a better compliment to your kit than a large diaphragm.

I actually have a 416 and like it for that purpose. I just couldn't use it for musical vocal recordings. The Heil in Europe costs about 400 Euros. Is it that much cheaper in the US? Import duty is no problem for me.
