Is anyone out there using Oktava 012 mics with the DVX? In particular, I'm wondering about what I hear about the DVX needing a lower-sensitivity mic, e.g. using the reduced sensitivity K6 with an ME66. People seem to be hotrodding the Oktavas for use with other cameras (according to the Recording Magazine directions from September, which I haven't seen). But I'm wondering if anyone has experience with these mics and the DVX, and whether you do or don't want them hotrodded.

Thanks!

Re: oktava 012 hotrod & DVX

I tried an unmodified Oktava 012 with my DVX100. It worked ok; I did not do careful tests. I thought it was somewhat more sensitive than the DVX100 built-in mic. It is certainly very sensitive to wind noise, even though I had a large foam windscreen on it and was indoors, when moving the camera I sometimes got wind rumble.
