OKC Bombing Photos

I visited OKC a few years ago and I can't think of anything as heartbreaking as the fence and all the messages around the bombing site. Windows were still boarded up on some of the buildings downtown.

Truly amazing work. Some heavy and poignant images here.

Give up the details! What did you shoot with and what were the settings, any post work info is appreciated too! I want to duplicate this particular look on something I'm working on.

Thanks, and again, bravo!

Thanks! I shoot with the Canon 1Ds (full frame). Most of these were shot with the 50mm 1.4 prime, and 17-40mm wide zoom. All shot raw, metered with Sekonic L-358. A couple of them have an on-cam flash with CTO gel in it to warm it up a bit.

For post, its just a combination of curves, levels, saturation, blending modes, and raw adjustments. Not really any magic to it, just have to understand the tools and how to massage out the look you're after. Gotta love Photochop! :)

Beautiful shots Kyle. You managed to really grab the look of Remembering, but without making the shoots too sad. The composition and color work was simply fantastic.

Thanks a lot for sharing.
