I'm shooting my first music video for a buddy of mine. It's an r/b, the song takes place in a club. I don't think he can afford renting out a club. So where is other places we can do the video at. I was thinking of trying to renting out a VFW, if you have any ideas please help me out. We supposed to shot the video the 23 of march so please be speedy thank you so much.

Hey! Quick tip. This is the screenwriting forum. Try the cafe or another forum that deals with locations, you might get a stronger response. Good luck!

It's hard to make a VFW look like an R&B club unless you have a budget which, of course, defeats your purpose. I'm sure if you make enough phone calls and knock on enough doors you'll get a club to help you out for little or no money. What else to they have going on at 9 AM? Work around their hours. Shoot something for the owners family. Get creative. Simply know what you want and go after it.

What kind of budget do you have? Don't rule out the club all together, if you can do everything you need to do after hours when the club isn't normally opened you might have some success with the club owner.

Another way is find a smaller club that needs some promoting, offer to shoot the footage in the club and give them some of it to use as a promotional tool on their website. There's always ways around things and negotiations can be made.

If not, as bill said - throw a rooftop party, why not?

Your going to think I am crazy, but try some local churches. Most churches have youth groups that have live band set ups. They look a lot like little clubs, they often have stages and lights and churches always need money. You could offer them 100.00 bucks and they might think that was awesome.

okay I did what ya'll said. And I think I may have a club for the shoot. It's an up and coming club who I guess don't get much business, My little sister's mother knows the owner so we are working out something as I type (hopefully I'll be able to put my videos on here and you all will be able to critic my work thank everybody so much.
