please give me clarification. i 've read all the posts, done searches, and am still confused.

i'm shooting in 24p, 4:3 for broadcast.

how do i capture?

for sequence preset
dv ntsc 48 khz or
dv ntsc 48 khz - 23.98?

for capture preset
dv ntsc 48 khz or
dv ntsc 48 khz advanced (2:3:3:2 pull down).......this is for 24pa, right?

do i have to worry about pulldown at all?

do i edit in a 30 frame timeline or a 24 frame?

do i use cinema tools or not?

yes, fine, i'm an idiot....there has been so much discussion about this and everyone is saying to do it differently and i don't know which is the right way now.

i need to get this right...i have a lot of editing to do and if the set up isn't right from the start, i won't have alot of time to deal with f**k ups.

so please. have patience and walk me through this.

thanks in advance

carl

If it's just 24pnormal, ie. F5 setting on the camera, it's just plain old 29.97. You can use the default settings in final cut.

Do not worry about pulldown. do not use cinema tools. Edit in a 29.97 timeline.

That's it. Treat 24p normal just like regular editing.
