OK, now a "free agent"

Doc Bernard

Indie Arms Member
Even though he was "borderline" legit, and that is still debatable. But just told him to take a flying leap and not to contact me again.

I am going to focus more on Indie-Arms than my acting, which part of me is sad, as I really enjoyed acting. I will still get bit parts through the weapons company, but nothing supporting or lead. Part of me is mourning right now. Deeply.

But in a financial well-being sense, this is the best decision. Choosing what I love or what I am good at. I wasn't the best actor by any stretch, but I enjoyed the hell out of it. But weapons and the training to handle them.........I am close to the best, and I surround myself with the best.

Like I said, I will pick up small bit parts occasionally, just to keep in touch and not forget, but I am officially pulling myself off the market for any lead roles. Please join me in mourning my loss.

Sorry to hear that Doc. Don't worry. You'll still pick up your own gigs without an agent. Things come if you want them too... BTW I'm editing the film now. It turned out great.

We will leave no (actor) behind!

Uh, Doc, you're an actor in California who owns a prop gun company. Buy a camera, some lights (my Action Filmmaking book would be nice too) and shoot cheap action films in your downtime starring you. I mean you own all the weapons. Get a friend to produce, call in some favors, next thing you know, you're a low-budget Arnold. No need to give up the acting when you hold the cards. Travel, food and props are some of the most expensive parts of a low budget production. Make some deals, plus it'll be a big ad for your business, like the last Star Wars movies were for ILM. LOL.

And get Michelle as a leading lady. Dress her in leather, have her talk tough, ride a motorcycle and shoot big guns and you got a hit on your hand. That's what's I'd do. Oh, you may want to have a good script too, that's kind of important, but Michelle in the leather is a key element. Trust me.

Great idea to take control of your career. Its opened many doors for Stan Harrington. A buddy walked me through a very cool location last Monday that he owns. He's letting me use it for free to shoot an experimental action film this summer. I've got the run of the joint nights and weekends (gated multiple building industrial facility). I got tired of just writing for others.

"And get Michelle as a leading lady" Can't go wrong with Michele for sure. Don't let the a-@#%'s get you down Doc.

Hey Doc, just remember... if you EVER want to throw a scene together or anything, just let me know. I'd be more than happy to work with you on something...

Piggy backing on the other thread about actors making films (which piggy backed off this one, LOL), I bet you could cut some deals based on your prop weapons, to get a feature film shot, but spell out what you'd be willing to give in trade for work done and under what circumstances.

Been thinking about that. I would be totally open to collaborating for a trade.

Nathyn, I would trade writing a chapter in Action Filmmaking (next edition) on weapons/prop weapons (including safety procedures) and tactics for a copy of the one out now.............

Maybe we should start thinking about an ActionFest. I vote for it. Hint, hint .......moderators????

I will always remember that. Between your single L and the lady at the Philly Streak shop who doesn't think I'll remember her name when I come back I gotta get better with names.
