All right, I give up!

I can't wait for the PC to work with the HVX200.

Call me cheap, but I just bought a new PC anticipating a better enviroment for working with the HVX.

Well, here's to hoping, that was no doubt a mistake!

I don't want to drain the wallet, but want a good mid range setup.

My requirements are to use two DELL 2405 (24" ) monitors.
I want a video card that can support two monitors. One for preview, the other for edit.

Please outline this package, and the best most reasonable place to buy it.
What will the cost be including FCP and no monitor?

The cheapest you could get away with pushing two monitors on a Mac would be a dual core 2.0GHz G5. That's $2k, and another 1300 for FCP studio...so, overall you're looking $3300. All Mac's are pretty much the same price no matter where you buy, unless you get one used.

The 2.3 dual core has a better video card.

I would spring for the extra $500 to get the 2.3ghz...faster bus, better card, and more storage. Never, and I mean never, buy memory from Apple...they'll rip your head off and feed it to dogs with their prices.

I like that FCP loophole...better hurry and pick up a copy from the APple store nearest you before they are gone.
