OK Go just lip synced on the VMA's

I can't believe it, although, mostly I don't care (vma's are on in the background cuz I like Jack Black and The Racontours).

Anyways, Ok Go (a band that's been around a while, but just recently hit big) did their number on the VMA's, and instead of bringing their gear and actually playing their hit song live, they chose to bring out the treadmills and reenact the video. Now, I'm not a fan of the band (I respect their success, though), but I found that somewhat lame.

I guess they don't think that the music can carry their success very far.

Yeah but you try to get 4 people doing all those moves and not messing up. Hard enought to do it for a video but even harder on stage live. So music or not thats not the point the point is that they got big being crative and not doing the million dollar rap video.

The Racontours kick But Jack is sucking big time.

Because it's the Video Music Awards, I think it's ok that they lip synced. The attention is more on the creative aspect of the "video" not on the music. They were there because of their video so they recreated it. But if it were any other "music" awards ceremony then the lip sync would have been a bad idea.

Just like the superbowl, none of the performers actually sing. The producers would much rather the show run smoothly than let the artists keep their integrity.

Frankly, that's how I feel as well. If it were a concert and they were doing that, then yeah, that's wrong, but for a major televisoin appearance I can understand it.
