Ok... Ambiguously titled thread's suck

So, I am working on a short film project, and I want to do a teaser trailer for it, to show people and get some interest in it. I have no footage, but it's set during the cold war, and it involves a girl smuggling bibles into Russia. So, if anyone wants to take a crack at it, that'd be cool. I'm working on it myself too. I also got some really good royalty-free trailer music.

dude go to a Army/Navy surplus store, get some old USSR uniforms. then go find an abandoned warehouse and shoot some people sneaking past the gate while the guards smoke cigarettes. cut your trailer with that. just a little here or there is enough to get your point across. EZ

P.S. making LA look like Russia will be hard. it's never sunny in Russia, and if you see people's breath it will be 100% more convincing. They even put the breath in in post in Rent.
 
Yeah, most of it takes place at night (which is nice). And, not a lot of exteriors. Thanks for the idea, I'll probably do something similar.
 
Well..heres an idea...i had to do a report on the Cold War last year for english...and i got all this stock footage from the public library.

if you have a VCR that captures too your computer directly..its easy..its good to use this technique and get the footage you want
for me..i had to hook up my camera to the VCR and record to the camera then to the computer since i dont have one of those nifty VCRs.

Go to the library..pickup alot of cold war docunemtaries...and use the footage with no audio.

If you are trying to get peoples intrest in it using other peoples footage (stock) doesnt seem like a good idea. The first question I would have is how did you get it too look like real footage and when you say it is real then my next question would be so wheres the part you did? I would only be interested in what your ability to sell the period was as a potential interested party.

Are you asking others to produce a trailer for you? Terry not understand Briceman post.
 
Actually, this thread was originally titled. ok....
I think one of the mods renamed it to what it is now... And, yeah, I was asking for someone to throw something at me that might work, an idea, or whatever.
 
I live in Key West.. I just spent the last 4 weeks adding frozen breath to shots
that were farmed out from a company in Canada. Life just has some odd twists
and turns :)
