OIS with other adapters beside ANA?

I realize not to use OIS with an anamoprhic adapter, but what about a wide angle or telephoto adapter? For that matter, what about an ND filter? Best- Mike

Re: OIS with other adapters beside ANA?

You don't want to use it with the anamorphic adapter because the adaptor changes the shape of the picture and only works if it's perfectly aligned. The other types of filters aren't that way.

Re: OIS with other adapters beside ANA?

as David said, don't worry about the filters.
while wide angel shouldn't be any different than the anamorphic for that matter, from my experience with wide angel, it worked fine also with the OIS on.. i guess it's the nature of that lens, being wide angel, not to emphasize this problem.

the way i understand the "problem", is that the DVX's Leica lens sits in the OIS, while the attached lens (i.e anamorphic, wide angel etc.) is fixed to the body of the camera, uninfluenced by the OIS. so, the Leica - rock and roll, the attached lens - fixed, while those two *must* be aligned one against each other, otherwise you'll see some slight shaky optical distortions (don't know how to describe it really..)

filter is not an issue since it's straight flat piece, no curves and no chance for distortions.

Re: OIS with other adapters beside ANA?

So I'm confused. Should I use OIS with a wide angle adpater or no? There is going to be a decent amount of camera movement. Thanks guys- Mike

Re: OIS with other adapters beside ANA?

best if you will test and see. wide angel movements are easier to handle anyway, also without OIS, so if you want to stay on the safe side, keep OIS off. hope it helps.
